Neutrogena® Bright Boost Gel Cream 50mL

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Light summer gel [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Honestly, I was not blown away by the Neutrogena Bright Boost Gel Cream - feel like I've used better 'pharmacy' brand/budget-friendly products. It did feel light and refreshing when on, smelled great and gave my skin a glow - however, I felt it really didn't sit well under my make-up. Something in the ingredients did not agree with my other make-up and reduced its wear throughout the day. I will say - used in conjunction with the Neutrogena Bright Boost serum gave my skin a good boost of hydration, but not enough to wow me by any means and repurchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Need to layer with an occlusive moisturiser on top [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Like the other products in this range, the first thing I noticed when I opened the tub was how heavily scented the product was. Personally, it's on the borderline of being overpowering. The gel cream itself is a very light consistency. I would classify it as a humectant moisturiser which means that its good in drawing in water and holding moisture in your skin however you definitely need to layer it with a more occlusive moisturiser on top to lock it all in. If you rely on only on this as your moisturiser, you will find that it is not only not moisturising enough, it will even dry out the skin.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Quick fix for boost and hydration on face [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So i have mixed feelings about this product, I really love the way it feels on my skin, its very cooling and refreshing and the gel like consistency gives a quick fix hydration and refresh however i wasnt convinced that it was having any lasting impressions of actually brightening my skins condition rather than just applying a top layer bright cooling gel. Also i wouldnt recommend this for anyone who has slightly sensitive skin. I think this could be best used as a travel item, i felt this would be something i would want on long distance travel wash bag, to instantly refresh your face, quick hydration and smell great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Its nice! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a lovely cream, feels really smooth after application- i would recommend it for people with normal to oily skin? i have dry skin and it wasnt enough moisture for me. I was glad that it did not break me out or irritate me after using for 4 weeks straight. I didnt notice any difference with skin texture/dark spots/correction. So it was just nice. The only other thing i can complain about is the fragrance- i would give the product another star .if it was fragrance free. It runs through the whole line. Its not unpleasant- but more unnecessary.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Glittery gel that doesn't absorb well [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This "Gel cream" was way too heavy for me. I expected it to be light like a gel and moisturising like a cream, but instead it was sticky like a gel and heavy like a cream. The product didn't fully absorb into my skin. There was always a feeling of stickiness or tackiness after it was applied. I also didn't like that the product had tiny glitter granules in it. It made me think there really isn't any active ingredients to add a genuine glow to the skin, it was just a glittery, heavy gel that didn't absorb very well. The scent was pleasant enough but I would definitely not recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new go to [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and my skin has been loving every bit of it. It doesn’t feel sticky and smells great as well. Easily absorbed by my face which means I can just use it as my everyday moisturiser under my make up. I will definitely purchase this when I run out, give this a go, you won’t regret it! I have sensitive skin which is quite prone to break out especially when I use new products, however this product did not affect me at all which I am very impressed with! I highly recommend it for people with sensitive skin too as it left mine with no break outs, redness and itchiness. My face looked noticeably brighter and felt softer and smoother - very happy user!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Neutrogena bright boost range to trial and to say I was impressed is an understatement. I’ve been struggling with skin that is dry one day and oily the next, looking rather lifeless and dull, but after using this moisturiser in combination with the exfoliater and serum my skin has never looked better. The moisturiser has been perfect for my need during the day and most importantly during the night where I need a moisturiser that keeps working through the night, and this fits the bill. Its light in texture and soaks in quite quickly without feeling dry afterwards. The scent isn’t my favourite but I can get passed that for the sake of the benefits I’ve had using this range of products. I will definitely repurchase this whole range again and again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super soft skin [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really liked Neutrogena Bright Boost Gel Cream! I typically go make-up free most days and this made me feel really confident doing it. It absorbed into my skin so well, and left it glowing and soft. The slight drawback for me was I don't LOVE the glitter but its certainly not ostentatious by any means. My skin still felt hydrated in the morning from applying it the night before, which was definitely a pleasant surprise. You don't need a really large amount either, so a jar will last a little while

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A lot of shimmer if you want a moisturised glow [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m not a big fan of skincare with shimmer because it tends to spread everywhere - makeup brushes, hands, clothes etc. This is probably a product for those who don’t wear makeup besides a light concealer which can go on top of the cream and worn alone because the shimmer gives you a natural glow look. Good for those who love dewy natural looking skin however I’m more of a matte girl. The smell as well is quite strong for me, I’m used to unscented or more botanical natural scents so this product unfortunately not made for me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not hydrating enough.. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this gel cream moisturiser in conjunction with the micro polish and illuminating serum from the bright boost range. The product comes in a pink and silver jar, which isn't my favourite packaging but does the job. The gel cream is a nice consistency and applies well to the skin. It is heavily fragranced however, which I generally try to avoid as my skin is easily sensitised, but I haven't noticed any irritation with use. Unfortunately, however, this gel cream just does not provide enough hydration for my (drier) skin. Based on this I wouldn't repurchase, and I wouldn't recommend for anyone with drier skin types.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Brightens but not hydrarating enough [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To be really honest, I had very high expectations from this one as I've used the Neutrogena gels in the past. Unfortunately, this one wasn't hydrarating enough for me. It does brighten the skin, but I would not want to attribute that to one product alone, as I've used this in conjunction with other products from the range as well. The formula is gel like, absorbs right into the skin, and leaves my skin asking for a something extra. I do have combination skin, with an oily t-zone. The product felt dry and tight onn my cheeks. The t-zone felt ok. I would recommend this to someone looking for a brightening gel, but has skin that does not need a hydro boost.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice gel cream [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried Neutrogena Bright Boost gel cream along with other products in the range.  The gel comes in a pot packaging and has a very nice smell. I loved  the feel and the texture of the formulation. It easily gets absorbed into the skin but I didn't like the shimmer it has which takes a few minutes to disappear or absorbed into the skin. I have oily skin and had a bit of an issue with pilling and a shiny T-zone after a few hours when I applied this product with another skincare product or bb cream and make up. So I decided to try it on its own as a night cream and had better results. The skin looked hydrated and texture improved, skin felt smoother too. I wont say there were any instant effects but it did work for me over the time and didn't cause any breakouts.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Refreshed, Soft & Smooth [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm enjoying using the Neutrogena Bright Boost Gel Cream. Initially, it felt really hydrating on my skin, however after around two weeks my skin began to feel a little heavy when I wore this gel cream during the day time and I felt the shimmer tones didn't work well with my everyday minimal make-up look. I've begun to use this at night time with the serum and I like this combination. My skin is feeling lighter and hydrated again. I love the way my skin feels when I apply the gel cream at night - It feels refreshed, soft and smooth.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from So much Shimmer!! Why? [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had very high expectations for this product after absolutely loving the exfoliant from the same range, however this was a major letdown. The texture of the product is exactly as you would imagine a gel cream to be. It is a lightweight gel consistency that absorbs in to the skin easily without feeling heavy and hydrates my oily combo skin wonderfully. The first few times I used the product it tingled but not super bad and stopped within minutes. However after a few says of use, in conjunction with the serum from the range, my skin started to get irritated and I had issues with flakey, breakouts and dermatitis. The products may not have caused that on my sometimes sensitive skin, but those who are reaction prone - proceed with caution. All that to say, My biggest issue with this product is the addition of mica. SO MUCH MICA aka shimmer. The shimmer is rather large dark gold shimmer particles and on my very fair skin it looked like I was attempting my best edward cullen cosplay! WHY?? This meant that if I applied this product in the morning I felt I HAD to wear makeup if I was leaving the house. If they were to ditch the shimmer then I would definitely attempt to incorporate this product into my routine in a way that would lessen any irritation. As it stands, I would not recommend to family and friends.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A light summer moisturiser [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Neutrogena Bright Boost Gel Cream pairs well with the serum (which is a littler thicker and greasier). It is a refreshing moisturiser for summer and makeup sits well on it. It does have a fragrance, which my skin is sensitive to. Although a pleasant scent it can become a little overpowering over the day. I have combination dry skin and the moisturiser was good for my oilier t-zone but did not help with the dry patches on my cheek. It would be good for someone who has non-problematic skin that needs a light moisturiser. Haven't noticed any brightening effects yet. There also seems to be shimmer particles in it, similar to the ones in the serum.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not really a fan [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My honest review on Neutrogena Bright Boost Gel cream. The cream is creamy kind of texture, it slides on the face pretty quick and goes on smooth on the skin. The only reason this is ‘brightening’ for the whole range is that it’s full of glitter in the whole cream, which I personally don't like it as a base or in my skincare. It’s mildly scented which I feel good when I am applying. But it would be a great base if you but prior applying foundation, so you will have a shimmering effect brightening up from the skin.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A gorgeous gel cream. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Neutrogena Bright Boost Gel Cream feels like silk on your skin, and leaves a glowing complexion. I love the smell of it, and the light pink colour is gorgeous. I apply this morning and evening, and have been really pleased with it most of the time. I do notice if I apply it in the morning and don't wear makeup sometimes it can feel a little tacky on the skin? Not sure if it's not absorbing all the way or it's the AHAs at play. Either way, I'll continue to use this gel cream and I'm really enjoying it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not my first choice. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Neutrogena Bright Boost Gel Cream is a light hydrating cream. I find this particular product sits on my skin too long for me to absolutely love it. The packaging is a beautiful see through pink that just looks delightful on my vanity. I don’t hate a moisturiser in a tub but I do understand why some people don’t. You really have to make sure that your hands are clean before putting into the jar. I wouldn’t share it with another person. The product is lightweight and soft on the skin however I find it doesn’t absorb fast enough for my liking and therefore my skin can feel a little tacky for too long. It does sit well under makeup but I have to let it dry for long enough, which can be annoying, if I am in a bit of a rush. Over all my preference is defiantly the original hydro boost gel cream and I would repurchase that one over this any day.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Luxurious Application + Perfect Light Scent! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This moisturiser has the perfect texture and light scent to it! It feels so luxurious applying the jelly like consistency on. It's cooling effect make you feel so refreshed upon application and your skin looks glowy from within! This is a great everyday moisturiser and a perfect finishing product in the Bright Boost line. My only issue with this product was the slight tackiness left behind after massaging in. My face did feel a little bit sticky after but it wasn't a major concern to me. The gel is overall very light on the skin and my skin really absorbed it well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Smoothing but drying [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Neutrogena Bright Boost Gel Cream is a light creamy gel that offers only light hydration. It has a slightly sticky feeling when applied but does eventually absorb properly into the skin. I have combination skin and found that this gel was not suitable as a day cream as it isn’t hydrating enough. As a night cream it has a smoothing effect but my skin feels like it needs a big dose of hydration when I wake up. It does have that Neutrogena fragrance but it’s less strong than the overpowering serum so it’s not too bad. I really like the pink packaging, there is no waste with a jar as you can get every last bit of product out without any waste. This product is OK if you want a smoothing effect on your skin but definitely needs to be used with more hydrating products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favourite product! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] AMAZING! My favourite product in the range. This gel cream is so good. The product is so creamy and just melts into my skin. The fragrance is mild, but sweet. I've always been someone who never goes to work without makeup but thanks to this product and the whole range, I have the confidence to go without makeup. The cream also lasts a long time so its not going to run out quickly. You only need a small amount of product to cover your face and neck. The price range is great to for those that a budget conscience.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gives a shimmer glow but drying on skin [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really hesitant to use this at first because I had serious skin dermatitis or allergic reaction on Hydro Boost range. I tested a small patch first and since it worked ok, I tried to used a thin layer on my face. I've used this last among the three from the Bright Boost range. I assumed this will give the last hydrating factor from the range but was disappointed. Even though it markets to be from a brightening range, I just hoped they also made it hydrating because it's what we need most of the time. Unfortunately, I didn't like it on my skin. My skin feels dry, the smoothness and softness achieved from micro polish and serum were removed by this cream. On a good note, even after applying on my entire face, I didn't have allergic reaction.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hydrating Evening Instant Glow [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Neutrogena Bright Boost Gel Cream is the final product in the Bright Boost routine, and is a gel cream formulated to nourish and brighten the appearance of dull, tired looking skin. Similar to the Bright Boost range, this also has a fragrance and similar to the serum, this product also contains mica to give illuminating and radiant skin. This moisturiser is a gel texture and easily glides onto the skin, massaging to help the absorption. This gel cream however does not feel like it fully absorbs, leaving a slight layer sitting on top of the skin. This does mean that it is not the best moisturiser to use under make up or sunscreen but works well for evening or night use. There is the instant glow as a result of the mica however I am not too sure if there is any permanent long term brightening effects. The jar packaging is cute, however it is not the most hygienic package when constantly dipping finger into it and is harder to control consistent amount used. It is also quite bulky considering it is 50mL. Remember to always use high SPF sunscreen as this gel cream contains AHAs. This is a nice moisturiser to use in the evening or at night and if you want the instant glow but I would not recommend it as a day cream.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lovely consistency, soft glow [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been trying the Neutrogena Bright Boost range for about a month now and I wish I loved this gel cream as much as I hope but unfortunately, I found it quite average. Longer use may be able to yield better results with the various AHA and PHA in the products. I love the gel consistency, it settles on my skin quite well, there is a slight shimmer which I personally don't mind as it wasn't chunky and provided a slight glow. The product also contacts AHA and PHA which is fantastic to see combined in a cream. It has quite a strong scent so sensitive skin people might need to keep this in mind. I was also a little confused and cautious with using this product during the day with the AHA as it makes your skin more sensitive to UV. I wished the AHA was in the illuminating serum instead. Overall, an ok cream. Worth a try if you don't mind a little shimmer and I would recommend for night time use unless you won't be in the sun.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Brighter skin, could be more hydrating [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Neutrogena Bright Boost Gel Cream is formulated with an Accelerated Brightening Complex to brighten the appearance of the skin. The fragranced gel cream itself has a lovely cooling gel texture that when applied melts into the skin and instantly leaves it feeling soft and smooth. The gel contains micro-shimmer particles for an instant brightening effect on the skin that thankfully disappear for the most part on the skin so you don’t look as though you have glitter on your face. As someone with combo-dehydrated skin, I unfortunately did not find it as hydrating as I would’ve liked so I think this is one for those with oilier skin types. However, the cream did leave my skin looking brighter and more ‘awake’ after a few weeks of use.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Summer Skin [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cream delivers on bringing a bright boost to the skin from the illuminating shimmer in the cream but unfortunately doesn't give adequate moisture. I used this only on makeup-free days as the moisturiser did not sink into the skin but sat on top so I often found it almost piling off which when wearing makeup is not ideal! I did enjoy how the cream made my skin look straight after application and I felt confident in my skin as it looked radiant and healthy. The summery fragrance was a nice addition too!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lovely Smell, but quite Drying [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not my favourite product in the range at all. I was really excited to try this product, even more so when I received it as the packaging is really nice and the smell when i opened it was so good! The cream itself felts good when i scooped it out and felt very soft on my face immediately after putting it on at night. The very next day though, I noticed how dry my skin was! I'm not sure if it had a dehydrating effect or if it was basically like putting no moisturiser on at all.. a bit disappointing seeing as the rest of the range is really nice! Didn't really like it in the morning under my makeup either as it didn't sit that well on top.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice texture [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I trialed this product alongside 2 other steps of the range (aka micro polish and serum). The Neutrogena® Bright Boost™ Gel Cream was probably my 2nd favourite after the micro polish. Scent is the same as the rest of the range and texture was quite nice. I like gel formulations because they tend to be nicer on the skin and absorbed easily. The downside is that if your skin is drier, than this may not be hydrating enough... In saying that I did feel like my skin was smoother but was hoping for slightly more moisture. I’m not convinced by the brightening claim but might require use over longer period of time but if you have normal to oily skin this might be a good go to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from RADIANT morning skin! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a huge fan of gel cream as I love the feel of it against my skin AND loved the Bright Boost Gel Cream. Honestly, I'm not a fan of the scent of the Cream (comes off a little too strong) but loved everything else about it. I use this as my night cream and noticed my skin looked more radiant in the morning - I can definitely say that the results of this gel cream aren't instant, you need to be patient with brightening products because it took around 2 weeks for me to see a noticeable difference of my skin i.e. brighter skin, face felt dewy/glowy after make up and reduced pores. I also applied a generous amount of the gel cream to my face so it definitely had the moisturising effect on my skin!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Refreshing, lightweight, brightening. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This gel cream is lovely, refreshing, lightweight and brightening. It has an a luminous effect that gives you a soft, silky smooth look. It absorbs really well and quickly into your skin. It has a good consistency, creamy without being too thick, unlike other moisturisers on the market. It does have a fragrant which I really like the smell of. A little does go a long way with this product. I used this product every morning and night and noticed a difference in the first week of use. I felt like my skin received good hydration and has a brighter complexion using the Neutrogena Bright Boost range, all of the products complimented each other each having its own purpose. I do recommend it as I feel it did do what it said it would do, make my face look visibly refreshed and instantly brighter.
